Welcome! We're Kelly and Dan Umbstead, and we're so glad you're considering staying with us.
Oxford has been our home for many years, and it's a community we truly love. Kelly grew up in the Oxford area and is the Broker of Coldwell Banker College Real Estate. After serving the Oxford community as a police officer for 31 years, Dan retired in 2013 and joined Kelly as a Realtor. We feel incredibly fortunate to live, work, and serve in a town that means so much to us.
Whether you're visiting Miami University, attending a special event, reconnecting with family, or simply exploring the area, we're happy to share our favorite restaurants, local attractions, and hidden gems to help make your stay memorable.
Family is at the heart of everything we do. We are blessed with four wonderful children—Chris, Jennifer, Lindsey, and Dustin—along with our amazing daughters-in-law, Tracy and Casey, our son-in-law, John, and our seven incredible grandchildren: Carson, Lily, Mia, Lincoln, Townes, Cameron, and Callahan. Of course, we can't forget our many beloved grand "fur babies," who are just as much a part of the family! When we're not working, you'll usually find us spending time with our family, relaxing on our boat at Brookville Lake, or enjoying a round of golf together.
In March 2020, we purchased the historic Welsh-Stewart House with the dream of creating a comfortable, welcoming place for visitors to enjoy. We quickly realized that finding quality accommodations in Oxford isn't always easy, so we set out to create the kind of place where we would love to stay ourselves.
Because we live on-site, we're nearby if you need anything during your visit while still respecting your privacy. Our goal is simple: to make this your home away from home. From thoughtful amenities to a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, we've tried to anticipate everything you might need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
Hosting guests has become one of the greatest joys of this adventure. We love welcoming visitors from near and far and helping them experience all that makes Oxford such a special place. Whether you're here for a Miami University visit, a wedding, a reunion, Parents Weekend, Move-In Weekend, graduation, or just a relaxing getaway, we hope you'll feel comfortable, cared for, and completely at home.
